July 26th: Shekinah Glory Fellowship Center Community Event

The Shekinah Glory Fellowship Center is sponsoring a free community event on Saturda, July 25, 2014 from 1PM-5PM at Eastside Park located at 627 Brewer Street, Asheboro NC 27203. They will be giving away free summer clothes, shoes, as well as free food and drinks! The event is free and open to the public. For more info click HERE.

August 2nd: Fleet Feet Pickle Run

The Inaugural Fleet Feet Pickle will take place on August 2nd, 2014. It’s a destination relay fun run between the Fleet Feet/Off'N Running store locations in Greensboro and High Point, so grab your friends and fellow runners to put together a team. The 30K course takes runners along the Greenway from Greensboro to High Point. This will be a relay in which 4 hand off locations will be set.  Teams can be comprised of 4 members, 2 members or 1 brave participant!  Where does the pickle come in? There will be pickle juice at the water stations, all finishers will get a jar of pickles, and instead of passing a baton between relay members, the teams will pass a plastic pickle.
There is not a charge for registration,  but your donation of $15.00 will enter you in the raffle, and all of the proceeds will go to Backpack Beginnings Foundation.. Every Saturday: 16 Cents Ministry Church Under the Bridge

The 16 Cents Ministry Church Under the Bridge will be held on Saturday, April 19th, from 6-7pm under the bridge at 300 Spring Garden Street in Greensboro.  The event brings together Greensboro's poor, homeless, passer-by, college students, and anyone who wants to worship Christ with fellow christian brothers and sisters.  A meal is served, and clothing, hygiene items, blankets, jackets, any type of nonperishable foods are handed out, as well as other needs being met.  If you would like to contribute or attend, please click HERE for more details

Guilford County Rabies Clinics

The Animal Control Program of the Guilford County Department of Public Health is updating its low cost animal rabies vaccination clinic schedule for 2014.  North Carolina law requires that all domestic pets, whether living inside or outside, age four months or older must be vaccinated against rabies.  The rabies vaccination will be five dollars ($5.00) per shot.  Cash and personal checks will be accepted.  Clinics are scheduled at the following locations:

September 12th - 14th: PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend

PetSmart located on Bridford Parkway in Greensboro will be participating in PetSmart Charities' National Adoption Weekend September 12th through the 14th. At this event there is a larger selection of dogs and cats that are available for adoption. For more information click HERE.

September 27th - 28th: Bike MS: VF Corporation and Wrangler Tour to Tanglewood

The 2014 Bike MS: VF Corporation and Wrangler Tour to Tanglewood is September 27th through the 28th at Tanglewood Park! There will be a team village, live music, hot food, cold beverages, silent auctions, and a kid’s zone at Tanglewood Park throughout the weekend! October 18th: Hope Grows 5K and Family Fun Walk

Caroline's Promise, a local nonprofit ministry group is hosting its second annual Hope Grows 5K and Family Fun Walk October 18th at Triad Park in Kernersville! Come dressed as your favorite superhero and run the timed 5K or run in the one mile fun run! Caroline's Promise partners with churches in Guatemala to help care for orphans and vulnerable children. Pre registration for the event is now through September 18th, regular registration is September 19th through October 16th, and late registration is October 17th and 18th.
