The Animal Control Program of the Guilford County Department of Public Health is updating its low cost animal rabies vaccination clinic schedule for 2014. North Carolina law requires that all domestic pets, whether living inside or outside, age four months or older must be vaccinated against rabies. The rabies vaccination will be five dollars ($5.00) per shot. Cash and personal checks will be accepted. Clinics are scheduled at the following locations:

October 5th: Chad Team Benefit - Bikes, Bands, & Racecars
Bikes, bands, and racecars are coming together on Sunday, October 5th, starting at 11:30a until ? at Southern Smoke/Smokin' Harley Davidson at 311 Myer Lee Drive in Winston Salem to help raise money for Chad Edwards, a Triad man in need of a double-lung transplant. October 18th: Hope Grows 5K and Family Fun Walk
Caroline's Promise, a local nonprofit ministry group is hosting its second annual Hope Grows 5K and Family Fun Walk October 18th at Triad Park in Kernersville! Come dressed as your favorite superhero and run the timed 5K or run in the one mile fun run! Caroline's Promise partners with churches in Guatemala to help care for orphans and vulnerable children. Pre registration for the event is now through September 18th, regular registration is September 19th through October 16th, and late registration is October 17th and 18th. October 23rd & 24th: Elder Abuse Awareness Expert, Paul Greenwood
On October 23rd & 24th, UNCG’s Gerontology Program, Elon University School of Law, The Triad Retirement Living Association (TRLA), and other concerned industry professionals are coming together to bring Paul Greenwood, an internationally recognized expert in elder abuse and neglect to the Triad. Paul Greenwood, a San Diego County (CA) Deputy District Attorney, heads that office’s Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit and is in charge of prosecuting elder abuse and neglect cases. Paul Greenwood will speak at Smith Senior Center to seniors in our community on October 23, 2014, 10am at Smith Senior Center, and at UNCG’s EUC Auditorium to industry professionals on October 24, 2014 at 9am.
