North Carolina law requires that all domestic pets (cats, dogs and ferrets), whether living inside or outside, age four months or older be vaccinated. Even animals that are confined in outdoor fenced areas should have current rabies vaccinations, because wild animals can get into these areas and attack your pets.
Rabies continues to circulate within our wildlife population. The best way to protect your family and your pet’s safety is to vaccinate your pets against rabies. Guilford County Animal Control is offering low-cost rabies vaccination clinics at the following locations and times:

The rabies vaccination will be five dollars ($5.00) per shot. Cash and personal checks will be accepted.

The 2nd annual Gateway YWCA Zombie Race is happening on Saturday, October 17th at the Gateway YWCA at 1300 S Main Street in Winston Salem. October 17th: KfK Car/Bike Show
Kruizin' for Kidneys Car/Bike Show will be raising awareness of kidney disease and helping "end stage renal disease" (ESRD) victims through organized rides and fundraising events. Our 2015 fundraising event will be raising money to help The Children's Organ Transplant Association. The event will take place on October 17th, 2015 from 10am-5pm at 1256 Longest Acres Rd., Snow Camp, NC.

October 24th: Making Strides for Financial Fitness Fun Run
On October 24th, Allegacy will hold its 2nd Annual Making Strides for Financial Fitness Event, a Retro Run, at Tanglewood Park to celebrate Allegacy membership!
The event will include a 5K route for runners and walkers, as well as a fun run 1 mile course prior to the 5k start. There will be games for all ages, including special décor, music, costumes and dances as we run through moments in time and see snapshots of different decades starting in the 50’s. October 25th: Boos & Brews 5K Run
The fifth annual Boos and Brews 5K and 1 mile fun run held in partnership with Twin City Santa and the City Dash.
The race is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th, 2015. The course is a certified 5K race through the ATFA and takes our runners and walkers through beautiful downtown Winston-Salem and West End.
The race will begin and end at BB&T Ballpark. Entertainment for the entire family will be provided, as well as music, food, and drinks. We will also encourage participants to dress up in costume for the race. Awards will be given for the top finishers and also best costumes. October 29th: The Wish Foundation Luncheon
The Wish Foundation (Women Inspiring Strength and Hope) it’s a platform for recognition, an opportunity to bring hope, strength and joy to sick children, and it’s a powerful celebration. There will be a luncheon held on October 29th 2015 for the Triad W.I.S.H. and November 3rd 2015 for the Charlotte W.I.S.H. Both registration times are 11:15AM. The Sherri Denese Jackson Foundation for the prevention of domestic violence, inc. invites you to paint the city purple to show support for domestic violence awareness. This will take place at the Downtown Greensboro Public Library from 2:30pm-5:30pm on Saturday, November 7, 2015.
November 14th: 2015 Walk for Wishes
Please join us at Tanglewood Park on Saturday, November 14, 2015 for the Winston-Salem Walk for Wishes as we celebrate 6 years of walking to grant wishes through the Festival of Lights! All the tools you will need to register, join a team, send emails or sponsor a walker or team are right here!
The Tanglewood Walk is a 5K/3.1mile route, with a turn-around point in the middle, for those that do not want to do the whole distance.

November 14th: Mackenzie Cut-a-Thon
Steel Roots Hair Salon will be having a cut-a-thon for Mackenzie on November 14th from 9am to 3pm. The Salon is looking to raise $8500 for her service dog and her family's travel expenses to go and get the dog. Steel Roots Hair Salon is located in Clemmons, NC, 27012 at 1436 River Ridge Drive.
