April 30th: Derby Day

Heritage Greens presents Derby Day Saturday, April 30th from 10:30am to 7:00pm.  Kickoff the day early with a delicious brunch, then join in a creative derby race.  Also Wind down with a relaxing afternoon tea.  Complete your day with beer and bowties where you get to know about the community while enjoying cold beers and mouthwatering foods.  This event will be held at Heritage Greens at 801 Meadwood St in Greensboro.   For More information Contact Heritage Greens at (336)299-4400. 

April 30TH: AARF Benefit

The AARF, An animal adoption and rescue group, will be hosting Hoots for Hounds at  840 Mill Works St, Winston-Salem, NC,  April 30th from 2pm to 10pm. This benefit will include a silent auction, 10$ Taco Bar and Lots of Hoots Beer.  Also there will be free distillery tours from 2pm to 4pm.  Proceeds will benefit animal rescue through AARF.  Dogs are Welcome!

May 1st: The Arts Council Summer Parks Series

The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, Forsyth County and sponsor Lowes Foods, will present “The Arts Council Summer Parks Series” on May 1st at 4pm at Triad Park.  “Ballet and Music” with opening act by The Genuine  who will perform their heartfelt, often hymn-like tracks  in ensnarling harmonies. They will be followed by the Winston-Salem Festival Ballet which will perform Gary Taylor’s heart-felt tribute to the price of freedom, Journey of Honor, saluting our nation and its armed forces.  The Arts Council raises funds and advocates for the arts, sponsors events in conjunction with other arts organizations, promotes and funds arts education, creates cultural and learning opportunities, develops social capital and aids economic development. May 1st: Stepping Out on Center Stage Fashion Show

Alabaster Place, Inc. presents, a Sunday evening extravaganza, Stepping Out on Center Stage Fashion Show on May 1st at 5pm.  This event will be held at the Old Salem Visitor’s Center, 900 Old Salem Rd. in Winston-Salem, NC. They have models from ages three to 89 that still have a little pep in their step and a little glide in their stride. Tickets start at $15 and $20 the day of the event. May 2nd, May 3rd, May 10th, May 17th, May 24th: Retail Training Program

Triad Goodwill launches a new training program in May designed to provide experience and recommendations for those who want to work in retail, but lack professional references to apply for a job. Orientation will be held Monday, May 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The first four-week training session will be held Tuesdays, May 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Burlington Community Resource Center, 3740 S. May 13th: EPES Transport System Hiring

Triad Goodwill is partnering with EPES Transport System, Inc. on a Hiring Event on Friday, May 13th from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at 3306 Edgefield Rd., Suite C in Greensboro. EPES Transport System is celebrating their 85th anniversary and invites job seekers to this employment opportunity at their location off Highway 68, just north of the airport. May 14th: Dance for Lowrance Zumbathon and Health Fair

Come join Lowrance Middle school on Saturday May 14th for a morning party with their Dance for Lowrance Zumbathon and Health Fair.  This event will be held at Atkins High School, 3605 Old Greensboro Rd in Greensboro from 9:00 AM till 1:30 PM.  The PTA is raising money for stationary bikes for the kids and other needs.  For a $10 admission fee join some of the hottest Zumba instructors in the triad for some salsa, Hip Hop, and samba; also a health fair with information ranging from nutrition to Cancer for all ages.  For more information contact Atkins High School at (336)703-4181.

May 19th:King Kiwanis Club Fundraiser

On May 19, 2016, The King Kiwanis Club will be holding their annual fundraiser benefiting the Stokes County School System,.  In the past the donations has allowed technology to be offered to the students by way of computers and internet service connecting all schools in the district.  For more information contact, club member, Melanie Wright at (336) 325-2774.  

May 20th - May 21st: Cops on Top

Cops on Top helps the Special Olympics of North Carolina in raising funds for athletes who are members of the Special Olympics participate in the events.  On May 20th- May 21st join the Kernersville Police department at your local chick Fila and help raise funds, hangout with the police, and if able donate.

February 24, 2017: Rock the Runway

The Triad Goodwill presents their annual Rock the Runway fashion fundraiser on Friday, February 24, 2017.  See the show, shop the floor and help support our mission of putting people in the community to work.   All proceeds from the night’s festivities will benefit those who experience barriers in employment and job training within our community.
